What if a rail line was constructed following the last portion of the original route of the Transcontinental Railroad from Ogden, Utah to Promontory Summit, Utah where the Golden Spike was driven uniting the United States from the Atlantic to the Pacific oceans? Furthermore, what if a passenger train was put on those rails and provided a memorable historic ride retracing this last link in the Transcontinental Railroad?
An organization has been formed, the "Golden Spike Heritage Foundation", who's goal is to realize this dream. This website is meant to inform the general public , rail fans and professionals about the ongoing project and solicit comments, questions and/or support to bring this dream to reality.
